Being Catholic: A Guide to the Basics

  Catholic Practices and Important Lists

 Ritual, Posture and Gesture

For Catholics, it is important to remember that how we worship reflects what we believe and determines how we live ("lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi"). For this reason and others it is thus critical for Catholics to know and practice the historic rituals, postures and gestures of the Church that help us express the depth and authenticity of our faith.
Admittedly, we live in a rapidly changing society, and many societal changes have found their way into the Church. But, it need not be the case that we follow the world and modern society rather than the timeless teachings and formation of the Church. Below are several recommended aids to developing a Catholic view and approach to the expression of our faith. Remember, the greater the reverence, the greater the devout expression of your faith.
